Privacy Policy

Home Energy Quotes Canada (homeenergyquotes.ca, the "Site") is operated by TechCreationsLabs LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you request a furnace or heat pump installation quote, what we do with it, and how to have it changed or removed.

1. Information we collect

• Contact details: first name, last name, email address, phone number.
• Home and system details: postal code, city, province, whether you own the home, what currently heats it, the age of the current system, and whether you are looking at a furnace or a heat pump.
• Consent record: the version of the consent statement shown to you, a SHA-256 hash of its exact text, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the time you submitted.

We do not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile, our anti-bot check, may process technical signals from your browser to tell people from bots.

2. How we use it

• To match you with an HVAC contractor who serves your area and pass your request to them.
• To contact you about your quote request.
• To run the Site: security, fraud and spam prevention, and error monitoring.
• To meet our legal obligations, including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), PIPEDA and provincial privacy law.

3. Who we share it with

• HVAC contractor partners. The contractor matched to your request, chosen by your location and the work you asked about.
• Service providers: Cloudflare (hosting, database, Turnstile) and Resend (email delivery). They process data only to provide those services to us.
• Legal requirements: courts, regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it.

We do not sell your information to data brokers, lead aggregators or advertising networks.

4. How long we keep it

Quote requests and their consent records are kept for 4 years from submission, so we can show what you agreed to and when. Server logs are kept for 30 days.

5. Your rights and withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent to be contacted at any time. Reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us at eric@techcreationslabs.com. You can also ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Consent records may be kept for the period above even after a deletion request, because the law expects us to be able to prove consent.

Residents of Quebec have additional rights under Quebec's Law 25, including the right to be informed about automated decisions. We use automated rules to choose which contractor receives a request (section 3).

We respond within 30 days, at no charge.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored in Cloudflare's encrypted database. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to the people and services that need it.

7. Children

The Site is for homeowners and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change expands who we share information with, we will tell anyone whose consent is on record before it applies to them.
